A more accurate title to this post would be, Why do most woman in certain “Westernised” cultures shave their body hair? But that was a bit much for the main heading.
So, why do women shave their body hair?
The following video may be a bit of an eye-opener for many folk.
As someone who has always admired women self-assured enough to not subscribe to the social pressure of female body-shaving, I have often wondered when this odd activity began. Turns out it was relatively recently and, no surprise, it has links to the modern propaganda of consumerism.
Negative reactions to an non-shaved woman and female body hair
I am often surprised at the strong reactions many men, and women, have to the notion of a woman not shaving at least her legs and armpits. These days many consider shaved pubic hair area around the female genitals[1]The female genitals in general are often mistakenly referred to as the “vagina,” which is actually the interior ‘tube’ … Continue reading a necessity too.
From my perspective… It’s a sign of deep unconscious social conditioning and mental impositions and programming. In many cases it may also be an unconscious expression of the malice and fear some men hold toward the feminine, especially as expressed by an empowered and mature woman. In today’s world, the shaving of legs and armpits is, by some, no longer considered sufficient. According to many, a woman must now also shave her genitalia in order to be appealing, sexy, and attractive. To me it just looks very very odd, and always leaves me feeling it’s a deeply twisted act.
The end result is women artificially kept is a visual state of prepubescence.
Question is, why do so many men (and women) find a prepubescent female body more attractive and acceptable than a natural, whole, and adult female body? If you have any interest in genuine self-awareness, it’s a question well worth self-investigating, whether you’re male or female.

I think it was in one of David Icke’s books that I read about prepubescent women being the hot item for Satanic Cults and (the so controversial) reptilians.. Symbolism is certainly a very powerful -often unconscious- element in our society. it’s a wonder why people call self depreciating things fashionable. Great read. Thank you.
Symbolism is powerful, for sure. I suspect a great many people degrade themselves for the sake of fashion (i.e. fitting in) because they have never been taught otherwise, and have become blind-sided to the true nature of the Being. It’s changing though… slowly but surely… one soul at a time.
Thank you for this! I arrived in the US at age 14 in 1969 (from communist Czechoslovakia), and had not heard of shaving body hair. The few times in my life when I practiced shaving, I felt – well yes, twisted. Unnatural. I am proud to have grown past puberty, and trying to appeal to a culture that prefers women pretending to be young girls always seemed kind of sicko. I’ve been criticized, but my own self-criticism trumped others’ and I’ve not touched a razor in decades. I am thrilled to see that others are starting to agree with me, I hadn’t known that. Thank you again.
Greetings Lauren. Thank you for sharing your story and experience with this. Much appreciated. Very glad to hear the power of your own spirit and inner known trumped out over the insidious and seemingly powerful social pressure common in our unenlightened societies. I wish you all the best on your journey. (P.S. I enjoyed looking at some of your photography. Thanks)
Jonathan,
I discovered your writing while researching thieves oil. I really appreciated all the knowledge you willing shared! I love the way the oils work and have been using my own combinations for a couple of years now. Mostly I work with Do terra oils – on a spiritual level they felt safer compared to Young Living. I did not have any social media exposure to confirm or deny my feelings. Everyone has their own views but this is where I stand at this point.
The article about shaving your hair as a woman has been a hot topic in my family for years. It was wonderful to find your article which I will be sharing with my family and friends. Thank you for taking the time to research and write the article for all seeking information to find.
I look forward to reading more of your writing and views.

Zelda
Hello Zelda. Thanks for writing. I agree that DoTerra make very nice essential oils. I am glad the shaving article resonated with you. I wish you all the best LIFE has to offer you. J
It was recently revealed to me by a young woman that all pornography actresses are not only shaved to emulate prepubescent 10 year old girls, but they also go to the extreme of genital mutilation to surgically remove their labia. Having visible petal like folds of skin at the vaginal opening is now considered by many young men AND WOMEN to be an abnormality. So now she not only has to feel guilty about the size of her breasts, the shape of her eyebrows, the pheromone producing hair under her airpits, the hair on her legs, the luscious shape of her belly and the sexually stimulating hair on her vagina but also the exquisitely unique and always delightful lips of her labia.
Hello Lianne. Yes, sad, strange, and yet true. Modern Man has created a rather odd and unnatural world for him/herself. Many are, thankfully, slowly changing that and naturalising themselves. :-)
