“You can count on people to make decisions based on what they consider to be in their best interest. These decisions are based on their perceptions. And these perceptions are based on their perspective.” — Shared by Lono Ho`ala… see his site at www.hunawisdom.com

It is for this reason that in Huna Wisdom we say it is not wise, and not really possible, to make commitments to people. A person is not something static and fixed, but instead something dynamic and constantly changing. To commit to that which is changing is to commit to nothing at all. So in Huna Wisdom we say it is wiser to make a commitment to principles. Principles that have been tried and proven by those making the comittment. If a principle is in alignment with reality there is a truth within it that remains constant and essentially does not change. Our understanding and appreciation of a principle might evolve and change over time, but no in a way as fast and unpredictable as a person.
